Welcome to my website.

My name is Steve Wilce and I am primarily a birder, however, my main hobby these days is attempting to photograph the birds I see and all images on this website are of genuinely wild creatures. I have had numerous images published in field guides, magazines, natural history books etc. Most recently in Iolo Williams's book on wildlife sites in Wales. I live in the heart of the Brecon Beacons, pictured above, where most of my nature watching is done. In the Gallery there are a selection of bird and other wildlife photographs taken mainly in Mid and South Wales but also in Norfolk which I have visited sometimes in either Spring or Autumn for over forty years.
I will add new images to the site as opportunities arise.
In the Trip Report section I have detailed where and what birds were seen on some bird watching holidays abroad and hopefully this may be useful to someone planning to visit these places.
There is also a selection of equipment reviews based on personal experience and an ongoing blog which I try to update as often as possible.
